The Treatment

Blood is drawn based on the areas treated (usually 10-30 ml), processed with centrifugal force with rich platelets, and then injected into the targeted area.

When injected into the skin layers it initiates a local stem cell response. In the weeks and months following treatment, these stem cells help to form new skin cells and blood vessels which leads to accelerated repair and regeneration of damaged or aged skin, creating healthy skin that looks refreshed.

This treatment can deliver this overall skin rejuvenation outcome by biological stimulation of the cells within the skin so that healthy, new tissue is produced. When injected into the skin, it activates dermal fibroblasts, the cells within the skin’s dermis that have an essential role in maintaining skin integrity and youthfulness. Due to the PRP, the dermal fibroblasts replicate at a higher rate and older fibroblasts are rejuvenated, to produce more collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid resulting in a dramatic improvement in skin health and appearance. The bonus is that the procedure is natural as it uses a patient’s platelets for accelerated healing and regeneration.

Common post-treatment effects include mild swelling, redness, and heat due to platelet activation. Bruising may occur and last a few days.

  • It is a natural type of cosmetic injectable.

    Treatment uses your own natural elements without the addition of any foreign products. We take your blood and spin it in a centrifuge, which enables the separation of the blood cells from your plasma and platelets. This is then re-injected into the treatment area to stimulate collagen and new skin cells.

  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a treatment method that utilises a person's own blood. Platelets play a crucial role in tissue healing and the generation of new cells. PRP stimulates collagen production, regenerates skin tissue, and encourages cell rejuvenation. The release of growth factors facilitates the healing process. PRP effectively diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, tightens the skin, and enhances skin tone and texture.

  • A Vampire Facial includes a combination of Skinpen Microneedling and the application of the patient's own PRP which is used to help improve a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, and uneven skin tone and texture.

  • This treatment involves extracting a fraction of blood from the patient, typically through a syringe. The collected blood is then centrifuged to separate its components. The platelet-rich plasma is subsequently reinjected into the skin or administered through micro-needling.

  • While undergoing reinjection, patients may experience mild discomfort, often described as a burning or tingling sensation. This sensation typically subsides within minutes after the injection. We prioritise patient comfort during treatment by applying topical numbing cream and ice to alleviate any discomfort.

  • Patients typically observe skin tightening and improved skin tone within one to two weeks following Plasma Facial injections. These results continue to develop over the course of up to six months after treatment.

  • Results from Plasma Facial can endure for several years after treatment.   • Pain is a very subjective experience and each individual has a different pain threshold. At Aesthetic Avenue we aim to make you as comfortable as possible during your procedure. We utilise strong topical anaesthetic, ice, stress balls and distraction induced analgesia (vibration device).

  • Our PRP appointment allows 60 - 90 minutes based on treatment area.

    All appointments allow time to discuss your concerns, devise a treatment plan and answer any questions.

    We do recommend a complimentary consultation for PRP prior to treatment, to assess suitability.

  • Unfortunately we cannot treat anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent.

  • No, you cannot have any cosmetic injectables treatments. It is unethical to perform studies on pregnant or breastfeeding women - as such, there is no evidence to suggest it is safe for your babe. However, we can still undergo a consultation where we tailor a treatment plan for when you’re able to proceed.

  • We accept cash, card, ZipPay and Afterpay. There is a surcharge on some of these payment methods.

  • As a mother of 3, Nurse Raluka is very understanding. You are welcome to bring your child/children or a friend to your appointment. Please notify the clinic if bringing children so extra time can be allocated to your appointment. Please ensure your younger children are self secured in a pram or are at an age where they can sit for the duration of your appointment.
